Alliance Benefit Group Rocky Mountain's 2018 Annual Advisor Appreciation Event is less than a month away, meaning that it is crunch time for any advisors that have yet to register.
These events have been a huge success in the past with great food, quality presentations, and some friendly competition. Being an advisor in the retirement space is a lot of work. We appreciate all that you do, and this is one way that we like to give back!
We are expecting this year's Advisor Appreciation Event to be even better than last year's, and part of this is because of advisors like you!
Here are 7 reasons why you should register for our upcoming Advisor Appreciation Event:
1. Industry Relevant Topics/ Education
This year's Advisor Appreciation Event will feature a slew of credentialed speakers covering industry-relevant topics. Best practices are changing, meaning that advisors are always learning.
A few of the presentations that will be featured at this year's event include:
Anthony Karamas' presentation entitled "Keeping Your Retirement Business Competitive". Anthony is the head of PAS-W (Managed Accounts) Off Platform Sales at Fidelity Investments.
Todd Lacey, Stadion Money Management's Chief Business Development Officer, will be giving a presentation entitled "The Rise of Managed Accounts in Retirement Plans".
"Many retirement plan participants are not comfortable making investment decisions. Over the past several years, our industry's answer to this has been Target Date Funds (TDFs). Based on TDF sales, it appears participants prefer to be told what to do or have someone else do it for them over making their own choices. Although serving an important purpose, TDFs have limitations—the biggest one is that everyone is treated the same. We believe this one-size-fits-all approach is becoming outdated, creating demand for a more personalized approach. As a result, an increasing number of plan advisors, sponsors and participants are considering adding a managed account option to their retirement plan. Join the discussion to learn more about the managed account landscape, benefits and drawbacks, and how plan fiduciaries can evaluate the options available in the marketplace."

The Advisor Appreciation Event is structured to help you build connections. Following some educational presentations, you will have the opportunity to connect with your peers either on the golfing green or while enjoying a friendly game of bowling.
3. Personal Interactions with Local Vendors
The lurking question in every advisor's heart- but who is the person behind the vendor email address?
Now's your chance to find out! Avoid the digital barriers; come connect with local vendors.
4. Free Food On Us!
Park City's Deer Valley Resort will be catering for this event, and let me tell you… I can't wait to try it!
Start your day off right with a beverage of your choice: a steaming cup of coffee or a refreshing cup of infused water.
Snacks and soda will be provided throughout the day.
Following the presentations, we will break for lunch. Each attendee will receive a cookie, fruit, and house made potato chips. In addition, you will receive two sandwiches. The grilled organic chicken sandwich features fresh basil, field greens, sundried tomato aioli, plum tomatoes, and smoked gouda cheese on a ciabatta bun. The D.V.B.L.T. sandwich features maple peppered bacon, tomato, lettuce, honey mustard aioli, avocado, and a carved roast breast of turkey on whole grain bread.
5. Beautiful Views
Nestled amongst the mountains along the Wasatch Range is Park City's Silver Baron Lodge. Imagine, the scent of pine hanging heavy in the air and a clear blue sky overhead. Birds are chirping softly in the distance, and the sound of wind rustling through the leaves fills your ears.
There's just no substitute for nature.
6. Fun Activity (Golf or Bowling)
Who doesn't love a little friendly competition? Whether you decide to tee off on the green, or strike out at the bowling alley, you are sure to enjoy your time away from the office.
7. Health Benefits
Expand your mind and strengthen your body as you take advantage of the activities provided at the Advisor Appreciation Event! According to Health Fitness Revolution's article, "Top 10 Health Benefits of Golf", the physical exertion can improve your vision, increase blood circulation to your brain, and reduce stress.
Their article, "Top 10 Health Benefits of Bowling" is also encouraging. Bowling can aid in weight loss, muscle gain, hand-eye coordination, and heart health.
Basically, regardless of the activity you choose, you will be healthier because of it!
